What Actually Matters in Your 20s: The Truth We Don’t Talk About Enough
Maybe, you’re living it all wrong.
Turning 23 this year has been a reflective journey for me. It’s funny how life seems to shift at different ages, pulling you in directions you never expected. I wanted to be a teacher at six, a doctor at ten, a physics professor at fourteen, and by eighteen, I was chasing the dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
The world always tells you what to do. “Get good grades, and your life will be set.” So I did that. Then it became, “Get into a great college, and you’ll have it made.” I checked that box too. But here’s the twist: despite following the rules, the confusion and dilemmas never disappeared.
From the moment you’re born, you’re handed a checklist:
- Get good grades →
- Stay out of trouble →
- Attend a top university →
- Land a well-paying job →
- Start a family.
But is this all that life is about?
Maybe I don’t have all the answers — I’m still midway through my 20s — but that might just be the reason why I can share the unfiltered truth. So, here’s my take on what actually matters in your 20s.
