Just Focus on Yourself: No One Really Cares as Much as You Think
Embrace the Freedom of Being Unseen and Unjudged by a World Preoccupied With Its Own Problems
Ever walked into a coffee shop and felt like everyone’s eyes were glued to you? The feeling that your every move is being scrutinized, judged, and discussed? Let me tell you something: it’s all in your head.
The Coffee Shop Syndrome: Thinking Everyone is Watching
I used to think like that, too. Every time I stepped into a coffee shop, I’d feel a rush of anxiety. I’d grab my coffee, sit down with my friend, and spend the entire time obsessing over how I looked, how I sat, and if I was somehow doing something wrong. My mind was racing, convinced that everyone was watching and judging me.
But guess what? No one actually cares.
The Gym Fear: Worrying About Judgment
This same overthinking follows me to the gym. I’m a beginner, still working on my form. I can’t help but feel like I’m making mistakes that everyone is silently judging. In reality, everyone is just focusing on their own workout, thinking about their own struggles. The spotlight effect? It’s real, but it’s a self-imposed illusion.
